Synchro has been likened to doing ballet, gymnastics, swimming and running 400m all while holding your breath and making it look effortless!

We are an inclusive, vibrant, fun squad where everyone is made to feel welcome. We do ask that swimmers can swim 50m with confidence and have completed Swim England stage 6 award (or equivalent).

We are proud to be coached by Shannon McGinty, National Synchronised Swimming Champion and British Championship Medalist.

We work towards figure grading and build routines, which allow swimmers to take part in local and national competitions.

Since the FINA 2015 World Aquatics Championships the sport has opened to males, who can now compete and are very welcome to join our squad.

Whichever squad a swimmer is more suited the coaches and the club will look to develop the individual and look to progress there development at their pace. To manage expectations, competitive swimming can become demanding on your time and requires commitment and a belief in ability. We just want to make you aware of this so there are no surprises. Swimming is an individual sport but is also a team sport. At Blackburn Centurions we look to nurture and develop our members and will support them to achieve this. We are one big friendly club with a real competitive will to win focus.
