Awards Galore at Blackburn Centurions Presentation Night

• Blackburn with Darwen’s performance swimming club Blackburn Centurions, awards night staged at Ewood Park, home to Blackburn Rovers
• Councillor Damian Talbot Executive Lead for Health and Leisure of Blackburn with Darwen Council and Chairman of Blackburn Labour Party joins the club celebrations and presents all the awards
• Upwards of 200 people join in congratulating the swimmers and their achievements

“Blackburn Centurions win a haul of medals at “Potential Olympians Gala meet in Salford”

  • Blackburn with Darwen’s performance swimming club Blackburn Centurions win 36 medals at the “Potential Olympians Gala meet in Salford”
  • The potential Olympians Gala meet in Salford is a great developmental gala
  • Developmental galas allow all members of the club the opportunity to get involved
  • This was an ASA level 3 meet which meant all swimmers times registered with the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association)

Six Blackburn Centurions chosen to represent North Lancashire in the Inter Association Gala

  • Blackburn with Darwen’s competition swimming club Blackburn Centurions has 6 of their swimmers picked to represent North Lancashire at the Inter Association Gala on the 24thJune 2018
  • The Inter Association Gala is to be held at the Palatine Centre in Blackpool
  • To be picked, swimmers have produced consistently the best times over the duration of the current season
  • Swimmers will be competing against Liverpool and Merseyside and the surrounding area

Blackburn Centurions name their 2018 “MicroLeague” Captains

  • Blackburn with Darwen’s competition swimming club Blackburn Centurions name their two MicroLeague team captains for 2018
  • MicroLeague of the Northwest objectives include encouraging competitive swimming for young swimmers between the ages of 9 and 12 years
  • The team travel all over the North West of England competing at different venues
  • It is a great way of introducing swimmers aged between 9 and 12 years to competition swimming

Blackburn Centurions send 14 swimmers to North West Regional Championships

  • Blackburn with Darwen’s competition swimming club Blackburn Centurions send 14 swimmers to “Swim England’s North West Summer Championships”
  • Swim England’s North West Summer Championships are to be held at two venues across the North West; Manchester and Liverpool Aquatic Centre
  • To qualify swimmers must meet strict entrance criteria
  • The fastest Regional times lead to National opportunities
