Blackburn Centurions compete in the North West League of the National Arena Swimming League. Generally our A and B Squad swimmers represent the club with invited C Squad swimmers sometimes being invited to swim up. Round 1 happens in October, Round 2 happens in November and Round 3 happens in December every year. The finals are scheduled in the following year in the month of April. Lee Orrell manages the team.

The Micro League NorthWest League is designed to encourage competitive swimming for young swimmers between the ages of 9 and 12 years. Ultimately the league will determine which team will go forward to represent “The NorthWest League” in the Arena Junior Inter League Competition during that year. This team will be awarded the “North West Micro League Trophy”, which will be held for one year.

The Association consists of swimming clubs, all of whom are affiliated to the North West Region of the ASA. The Association runs two open meets each year, a level 3 development meet in summer and level 2 age groups and Championships in September & October. Apart from the meets Blackburn Centurions compete in the swimming league, with teams competing in two divisions of eight clubs, over three rounds between February and June every year.
Swimmers are chosen, based on yearly performance to represent the Association in the Inter-Association Championships which is held at the end of the season against other North West Associations including Cumbria, Liverpool and District and Manchester and District.
